Very small footprint, unlike the do-it-all machines. Prints on any plain paper. Film cartidges available almost anywhere in the western hemisphere or on line. If you don't mind a corded handset, you may eliminate some other phone from the desktop clutter. Yes it has a speaker phone. I had an early predecessor model, without the answering machine feature that lasted about 15 years with out any
problems.
You can't get the Panasonics at Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Best Buy, Staples or Office Max. They all seem to be in bed with Brother and HP and stock a lot of the larger do-it-all copy-fax-print-scanners. You'll probably have to buy it on line. So go someplace dependable, like Amazon.

We use this in our kitchen as our phone/answering machine/fax. It's perfect. No problems with it. It takes up much less space than our old one. I would recommend for anyone that is looking for the convenience of having a fax machine in their home, but also wants a phone and answering machine.
